Meet the Team:

Michelle Wachtel
Director of Recruiting

Michelle Wachtel is the Director of Recruiting with the Holter Financial Group. She directs all aspects of recruiting including full-time (FRs) and college financial reps (CFRs) for the network office in downtown Milwaukee.  Michelle leads a team of full-time recruiters and recruiting interns while recruiting career changers herself.

Michelle originally began her career with Northwestern Mutual in 1993 as a high school co-op in the Home Office’s Corporate Information Center.  She remained with Northwestern Mutual’s home office until December of 2000 experiencing life in Compliance, Policy Owner Services, Marketing and Field Recruiting.  She left the home office for an opportunity to recruit and train career Voluntary Benefits Representatives as Director of Agency Development with Colonial Supplemental Insurance.  After starting a family and recruiting herself into the business to personally produce, Michelle spent five years managing Human Resources in the Milwaukee area.  In the Fall of 2010 she returned to where she affectionately calls “home”, the Northwestern Mutual as a Recruiting & Internship Consultant in the Horizontal Growth division of Agencies at the Home Office. Michelle consulted with field managers and recruiters on their office sourcing and selection systems and processes for FRs and CRFs until being recruited by Steve Holter.

Michelle lives in Oak Creek with her husband, Brian, and two daughters, Autumn and Amber.  She is a Daisy Scout troop leader and is a member of the Career Crossroads Committee which leads networking meetings monthly and facilitates career change skill development courses at Hales Corners Lutheran Church.

Jennifer Comin
Recruiter

Jennifer Comin joined the Holter Financial Group in November of 2011 and now specializes in recruiting Career Changers as full-time Financial Representatives.  After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee with a degree in Broadcast Journalism Jennifer pursued an opportunity with Human Capital Solutions, a recruitment firm headquartered in Downtown Milwaukee.  During her four years with the firm she focused on the sourcing, placement, on-boarding of various direct hire positions for professionals in the restaurant and retail industries. 

 

 

Stephanie Janke
Campus Recruiter

Stephanie Janke joined The Holter Financial Group in 2011.  Stephanie is a former Division I collegiate women’s basketball athlete who graduated from Drake University in 2003 and earned a Bachelor degree in Advertising Management.  Stephanie is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Education – Athletic Administration.  Prior to joining The Holter Financial Group, Stephanie was an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Director of Operations for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

As a campus recruiter for The Holter Financial Group, Stephanie educates college students about how an internship with Northwestern Mutual provides the rewards and opportunities of entrepreneurship, having an impact on people’s lives, and unlimited earning potential.  Stephanie cultivates a supportive environment for ambitions individuals who chose to take initiative and create their own financial security and produce a high quality of life for themselves and their families.

Amanda Schmitz
Campus Recruiter

Amanda Schmitz is a Campus Recruiter with the Holter Financial Group. She works with students on several campuses to recruit for the College Financial Representative (CFR) position in downtown Milwaukee.

Amanda graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse in 2010 with a degree in Marketing and Finance. She began her career as a Financial Services Intern with the Trane Company.  After graduating, she stayed with the Trane Company and pursued a full-time position as a Finance Assistant in their Accounts Receivable department. She was introduced to Northwestern Mutual by a friend and fellow UWL alumni who was a CUD in LaCrosse.  Amanda moved to Milwaukee in 2011 and joined the Holter Financial Group.
